Stories of Endurance
The Hard Fought Faith conversation archives and devotionals walk through the testimonies of believers who have walked the path of Hard Fought Faith- the good and the hard. Each conversation will have a topic title to help you know what the conversation will focus on.
You can listen to these long-form conversations all in order, out of order, or even just by the topic that applies to your walk. Listen to them all… just one… whatever you need.
Here you will find that you are not alone.
If you listen and never respond—that’s just fine. These conversations are meant to meet you where you are.
This is the Lord’s, and all things are in His timing.

Devotionals and Journal Pages
The Hard Fought Faith Devotionals are a place to find fellowship while walking the hard path, hope for what comes, and honesty in the wrestling.
The journal pages are the “songs” I wrote, my own laments and triumphs, while I was in the middle of my seasons of hardship. I used this format to pour out my confusion, pain, hope, and relief in the Lord. These aren’t works of art, but an honest look into my heart during a season where I struggled to articulate what I felt.

The Hard Fought Faith Podcast
Hard Fought Faith is not intended to suggest that all faith is suffering—or that faith only grows with struggle. Hard Fought Faith is about recognizing that the faith walk includes refining (ouch), persecution (double ouch), and general hardships in life. The good news—even when you know what it means to wrestle with God or difficulty, it does not mean you always will. And, even more promising, there is a joy and peace that is built with Hard Fought Faith that storms of life can’t drown out.
Our fight isn’t against the Lord, but the enemy and the hardships of a world that is dying.
We acknowledge the hard, but we don’t live there.
We plant roots and grow in the Lord there.

Why We Are Here
As I sat in a church service, listening to the pastor preach on victory, I felt a familiar frustration. Victory, without context…can be cruel.
Imagine that same pastor standing at the bedside of a mother whose child has just passed from a cancer battle. Preaching victory.
Victory IS the inheritance of every believer. But if you’ve planted roots in the valley, thirsted in the desert, or been tossed by the waves of difficulty, you know that Hard Fought Faith, the kind that roots into the impossible because of the God of the impossible, doesn’t get the guarantee of earthly good.
And still we have faith.
Lost? Broken? Tired of shallow faith?
Welcome.
